Curata About

Clinical literature, without the second job.

Curata is built and operated by Quintin de Groot, MSc PT, in Winterthur, Switzerland. It is a small, focused product with a simple aim: make new clinical research easier to find, scan, and trace back to its source.

Why Curata

A reading list should earn your attention

Keeping up with clinical evidence should not require rebuilding the same search every evening. Curata turns topic choices into a monthly orientation: a short set of relevant PubMed papers, one signal per paper, and a source-marked synthesis when that synthesis has cleared its checks.

The product is intentionally narrow. It helps clinicians decide what deserves closer reading. It does not pretend that a compressed summary is a substitute for the abstract, the full publication, or professional judgment.

Principles

Useful, inspectable, honest about uncertainty

The source stays visible

Paper cards retain their PMID and available DOI details, and link to PubMed. Synthesis claims use markers that map back to papers in the edition.

AI use is named plainly

Curata uses language models for triage, classification, concise writing, synthesis, verification, and targeted repair. It does not present that work as human authorship.

Checks are separated from writing

Code validates identifiers and source-marker structure. A model from a different provider checks synthesis text against the supplied abstracts, with a further judge used for selected subjective flags.

Uncleared work stays out

The display gate requires every synthesis section to have a current passing check or an explicit human acceptance. A changed section must be checked again.

Transparent AI

Automation is a tool, not a claim of certainty

Curata uses Anthropic models in its curation and writing pipeline and Google Gemini in its independent synthesis-verification stage. Automated ranking is combined with fixed rules, deterministic checks, a repair-and-recheck loop, and a gate that withholds unresolved work.

That architecture is meant to make errors easier to catch and easier to investigate. It cannot eliminate them. The public methodology page explains the current search window, ranking formula, verification stages, and limitations in detail.
